We will be seeing a lot of Michael Fassbender this year. After a less than stellar 2010, that included titles such asCenturion and Jonah Hex, Fassbender is rebounding with six titles, including Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class, David Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method and Steven Soderbergh's Haywire. If the year is as big as it should be, Fassbender could be an A-lister by December and rolling in offers, but he's already starting to fill out his schedule. 

The Playlist reports that Fassbender is currently in negotiations for a part in Genius, an adaptation of the book Max Perkins: Editor of Geniusby A. Scott Berg. Set to be directed by Bill Pohlad, the film is a biopic about the titular Perkins, who edited the works of greats such as F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway and Thomas Wolfe. Sean Penn has also been in negotiations for a role since last summer. It is unknown what role Fassbender will play in the film, but the story centers on Perkins' relationship with Wolfe, meaning that we might see Fassbender wearing a white suit and battle with the editor as he is forced to cut 90,000 words from his first novel, Look Homeward, Angel. 

Bad 2010 or no, I'm willing to give Fassbender an infinite number of chances to impress me as much as he did playing Lt. Archie Hicox in Inglourious Basterds. Here's hoping that this year doesn't make that too painstaking a task.
